Everything is new, comes March - and the city gardening.
At least on the stairs at Engelsberg.
The city employees did a great job there and renovated the stairs from bottom to top.
Fürstenfeldbruck – Until now, asphalt steps led up and down the mountain.
“At the suggestion of Mayor Christian Götz, we rebuilt the stairs.
He wanted the asphalt out of the forest for nature conservation reasons,” says Christian Metzger, deputy head of the city gardening department.
He and three colleagues took care of the renovation.

The asphalted stairs date from the 1980s, says building site manager Peter Langenegger when asked.
“The water used to come down the street from above and wash away the stairs.” Now a border has been built along the street that directs the water differently.
And special gutters were also built along the stairs to guide the water, explains Metzger.
Nature in nature
The stairs are now essentially nature within nature.
The handrail and steps are made of wood, the surface of the steps are made of a so-called monastery mixture.
It has nothing to do with the nearby Fürstenfeld monastery, as Metzger explains.
“It is a specific sand-squeezing mixture.” The construction method is the same as on the fitness path.
The natural staircase has proven itself there for a long time.
