Ukrainian drones recently attacked a Kremlin air base, which is located approximately 480 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border.
There was a bright flash over the town of Engels on the night of Wednesday (March 20).

Drones shot down by Russian military over air base
According to the governor of Saratov Oblast, Roman Busargin, some drones were shot down by the Russian military over the city of Engels, as he announced on the Telegram news service.
According to unknown sources in the Telegram channel “Astra”, three out of four drones fell to the ground not far from the air force base.
The Russian Ministry of Defense appears to support this information.
Four unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the Saratov region, the ministry announced early on Wednesday morning.
The Tupolev Tu-160 supersonic bomber with nuclear capabilities.
He also landed at the Engels-2 air base and regularly bombed Ukraine.

Exactly how many of these long-range bombers Russia has is unclear.
According to military magazine
Military Balance 2023,
the Kremlin Air Force has 60 Tu-95MS long-range bombers, 16 Tu-160 and 66 Tu-22M3 long-range bombers.
The
UK Defense Journal,
on the other hand, put the number of long-range bombers at a good 40 fewer aircraft.
