Daniela Klette is in women's prison, her RAF comrades Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg are still on the run.

The police are now talking about the status of the investigation.

Vechta/Berlin – The arrest of Red Army Faction (RAF) terrorist Daniela Klette has intensified the search for her accomplices Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub.

The Verden public prosecutor's office and the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office are currently processing around 760 new tips reported by the population.

At the same time, a new wanted poster for the two wanted people was published and distributed nationwide - also in English and Spanish.

RAF terrorists wanted: traces of Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub in Daniela Klette's apartment

Klette, Garweg and Staub belonged to the so-called third generation of the left-wing extremist terrorist organization Red Army Faction, which carried out numerous attacks and claimed lives until 1991.

The 65-year-old Klette was arrested in Berlin at the end of February after decades of hiding and is currently in custody in the women's prison in Vechta.

Garweg and Staub are also wanted for several robberies.

There is evidence that Garweg was in Klette's apartment in Berlin and that the two suspected robbers were in close contact.

It is believed that Garweg lived in various places in Berlin for many years and at one time owned two dogs named Anusch and Lola.

Traces that could be attributed to dust were also found in Klette's apartment.

Garweg regularly used aliases such as Martin Becker, Martin Martens and Martin von Staden, and is believed to have other identities.

Identity documents and driving licenses were also found in Klette's apartment, which indicate that she used various aliases such as Claudia Bernadi, Carlotta Gärtner, Claudia Schmidt and Claudia Schmidt Oliviera - and that Klette was planning a life in Italy.

The LKA Lower Saxony will receive information on 0511/9873 7400 or any other police station.

RAF terrorist Daniela Klette complains about women's prison - justice spokesman responds

Meanwhile, Daniela Klette's lawyer recently criticized the prison conditions for the 65-year-old in the women's prison in Vechta (Lower Saxony).

Klette is under video surveillance almost all day and is also completely isolated, said Berlin criminal defense attorney Lukas Theune.

In addition, books and newspapers previously approved by the judiciary were not delivered to his client.

“You don’t even give her a ballpoint pen,” says Theune.

“We will take legal action against the prison conditions,” he announced.

The case brings back memories: As early as the 1970s, the prison conditions of RAF members Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin and Ulrike Meinhof in the notorious Stammheim prison in Stuttgart were criticized - and led to solidarity among parts of the population.
