The situation had become unbearable for him.
This Tuesday, parents, students, teachers at the Maurice-Ravel high school, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, learned of the early departure of the principal of the establishment, a few weeks after being the target of death threats on social networks.
The principal had previously asked a student to remove her veil.
The Ministry of National Education indicates in a press release published this Wednesday morning that the national prosecutor's office for the fight against online hatred has therefore opened an investigation into death threats.
An investigation which led to first “significant” results, since “two individuals identified as being behind the threats, although unrelated to the establishment, were arrested”.
Important safety feature
The threats date back to February 28.
The principal is the subject of hateful messages on social networks "after asking a student to remove her veil in the establishment, that is to say the strict application of Republican law", reports the ministry.
A student then filed a complaint on March 1 claiming to have been “pushed and hit” by the manager.
“Immediately after the occurrence of these unacceptable facts, the Minister of National Education and Youth condemned them and provided her support to the principal.”

In the days that followed, the Minister of National Education and Youth Nicole Belloubet “went to the high school, accompanied by the director of the academy and the prefect of police, to meet the principal and the educational team, reaffirming the total support of the educational institution.”

The principal, for his part, benefited from the functional protection granted by the ministry from Friday March 1st.
Concerning the individuals arrested, "one of them must be judged on April 23 in Paris", specifies the ministry, which assures, after the principal's decision "understandable in view of the seriousness of the attacks of which he committed object” that “all National Education teams remain mobilized”.
