Thursday does not look like it will be particularly rainy in the northwest of the country.
But it should be windy, sometimes even very windy, according to Météo France.
The organization mentions an “episode of strong wind to watch out for in connection with the Nelson depression over the west of the country”.
This map shows, in red, the maximum gusts expected in the morning.
If the entire northern part of France is affected with a speed generally between 50 km/h and 60 km/h, it is in the West that they will be the strongest, reaching or even exceeding 100 km/h.

Inland, such a level would be considered stormy.
But along the coasts, this value remains below the threshold of 120 km/h which allows the phenomenon to be qualified.
This is why, in France, for the moment there is only talk of depression and no storm.
In the afternoon, a larger number of regions will be affected.
Inland, gusts could reach 70 km/h or even 80 km/h.
At the edge of the ocean, it is in Brittany that the gusts should then be the most powerful.

For the moment, Météo France is counting on a yellow alert (level 2 out of 4) due to the wind.
It concerns a very large northern half of the country.
But “a worsening of the level of vigilance is possible in certain coastal departments”.

In addition, on Thursday, the entire Atlantic coast will be at least on yellow alert due to the risk of wave-submersion.
The weather channel specifies that off the coast of Finistère the troughs could reach up to 8 meters, or even 9 meters.
