This year, strict attention is once again being paid to ensuring that alcohol consumption takes place in the Puchheim folk festival tent and not in front of it.

Puchheim – Volksfest speaker Thomas Hofschuster recently quoted Karl Valentin at the press conference: “Don’t drink so much, you’d rather drink a beer.”

Hofschuster wanted to make it clear that it was absolutely clear that alcohol was part of the folk festival.

“But in moderation.” In other words: parallel parties on the skate park with hard drinks are not permitted.

That's why there is also an alcohol ban area between April 12th and 21st, which also includes the areas at the high school and secondary school.

Glass bottles are also taboo in this area.

A security service will keep an eye on this.

Drinking is expressly only permitted in the festival tent and in the beer garden.

Security service

Festival host Jochen Mörz sees himself in a good position with his security guards.

“They are very friendly people who are well dressed and speak German.” However: “They are also of such physical stature that you think twice about messing with them.”

In recent years, the police have been very present around the station area, especially on the popular party evenings, i.e. Friday and Saturday.

Many people take the S-Bahn to the first folk festival of the season in the area.

Police checked

The police will also regularly cover the routes between the S-Bahn and the festival, as it was said at the press conference.

This was very successful: last year the balance was very positive, apart from minor incidents.

And one or two people who thought they had to drive home drunk.

Or let your drunk friend drive you to the car.

In order to prevent such things, the explicit advice was once again given to visit the festival on foot or by public transport.

There are few on-site parking spaces available anyway.

The festival bus

The festival bus (line 855) is available again this year.

It runs as a ring line every 20 minutes from the S-Bahn station Nord via Obere Lagerstraße and Lochhauser Straße back to the S-Bahn station.

On Fridays the first journey from the train station starts at 8.20 p.m. (last return journey 12.40 a.m.), on Saturdays it starts at 1.15 p.m. (12.40 a.m.) and on Sundays at 2.15 p.m. (10 p.m.) and during the week from 8.20 p.m. to 10 p.m.
