Feared tensions this Thursday evening in Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine) where, from 8 p.m., a controversial conference on the situation in the Gaza Strip will be held.
Organized by the Jewish cultural center of the city where one of the largest Jewish communities in Île-de-France lives, this paid conference, entitled “After October 7: assessment and perspectives”, will notably give the floor to two intelligence officers of the IDF, the Israeli army.
An invitation that is outraged by pro-Palestinian activists and elected officials, from Hauts-de-Seine and elsewhere.
The protest took the form of thousands of calls which converged, in recent hours, on the town of Levallois.
“This conference actually caused a certain stir.
The town hall switchboard was literally saturated with phone calls, a real phoning operation.
As for me, I received insults and threats.
Because in addition to being first deputy, I am Jewish,” quips David-Xavier Weiss (LR), who says he sees, in this tidal wave of calls, an operation fomented by the activists of France Insoumise (LFI ).
