Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fox sent a letter to the ministers today (Wednesday), in which he announced the final cancellation of the cabinet meeting regarding the recruitment outline.
In his letter, Fox accused the legal counsel to the government and the Ministry of Defense of tripping up the yeshiva and passing the decision on the matter.
In the letter, entitled "The sequence of events regarding the amendment of the decision regarding the conscription law", Fox recounts at length the consultations that took place in the last months, weeks and days regarding the outline of the conscription exemption, and writes that "the safe door for approving a decision on conscription in the government has been locked by the legal counsel to the government and there is no key, because that from a technical point of view it is not possible to get the professional infrastructure from the Ministry of Defense."
In the letter, Fox accused the legal counsel to the government and the Ministry of Defense of dragging their feet and the fact that the government did not advance any decision on the issue, even though tonight is the deadline for submitting the state's response to the petitions discussed in the High Court against not recruiting ultra-Orthodox and in favor of stopping government funding for yeshiva.

Fox refers to Defense Minister Yoav Galant's decision to instruct the professional teams in the Ministry of Defense not to cooperate with the formulation of the government's decision, which he does not support, and says that because of this it was impossible to get the professional infrastructure they requested in the legal advice to the government to support the proposed wording.
Fox also writes that every proposal made in recent days to the people of the ombudsman was "rejected by them" and adds that "up to this stage, the legal advice to the government has not pointed out a fundamental problem or at all that exists in the proposal of the decision-makers and has not raised a 'black flag' in relation to the proposal of the decision-makers."
