The circus had great meaning for Fritz Wepper: he is said to have gone to the Circus Krone premiere with his family every year.

He attended such a performance for the first time as a small boy with his mother and his late brother Elmar Wepper (†79) - that's why they wanted to give the actor one last joy and bring him back to this place again.

“It was Janina’s idea.

We all picked up Fritz together.

He had been incredibly looking forward to it for days.

The Circus Krone meant a world to him.

He was there for the first time when he was five years old,” Susanne Kellermann

told

“This is for you”: Extraordinary gift to Fritz Wepper

The highlight of every circus visit for Fritz Wepper is said to have been the lion show.

The TV star was also a godfather for one of the circus crown predators - during the break the actor even received hair from his godfather Elvis as a gift.

“He always loved ringmaster Martin Lacey Jr.’s big lion act.

At the end of the number he stood directly in front of Fritz and stretched his arms towards him as if he were saying: 'That was for you, Fritz'.

This moment is burned into my heart.

An incredibly big gesture,” says Susanne Kellermann.

Fritz Wepper's love of the circus also led him to take part in "Stars in the Ring" several times in the past - once he was even allowed to appear as a ringmaster.

As part of the format, he performed, among other things, a horse show.

Susanne Kellermann is sure that she “rounded out Fritz’s life” with her last trip.

In the meantime, other fellow actors of Fritz Wepper have also come forward and publicly shared their sadness about his death.
