The Swabian Greens have teamed up with the ZMS for the mayoral election.

Their now joint mayoral candidate is Ronny Schreib.

Markt Schwaben -

At an extraordinary event in the course of the upcoming mayoral election on Tuesday, the Swabian Greens voted, with two abstentions, to make the candidate Ronny Schreib, who had already been formally nominated by the ZMS (Zukunft Markt Schwaben), their own candidate for the highest local political office to make the market town.

In recent times, it has become increasingly clear that the content has been brought together, said acting group spokesman Joachim Weikel, who is not a member of the Greens, when asked.

The clear message from the Alliance Greens was that the fact that Write had been nominated as one's own candidate meant more than just a recommendation to vote.

Local spokeswoman Alessandra Neumüller announced that they would contest the upcoming election campaign together with the ZMS and also appear together in public.

She called Schreib's nomination a good response to what she saw as the obviously too conservative orientation of the other side (meaning the CSU, FW and FDP) with their common candidate Valentina Dahms.

Collaboration is more than just a voting recommendation

In various speeches it was clear that the second mayor was not 100% confident of filling up the social rifts that had arisen in the town after the dispute over asylum accommodation at Ziegelstadel as quickly and as well as possible.

But that is currently the most important task of a successor to Mayor Stolze.

What was also not well received by the Greens was that there had not been a single contact with the local Greens in the run-up to Dahms' nomination to explore any commonalities.

That's exactly what worked well with Ronny Schreib and the ZMS.

They ultimately decided to work together because there was a lot of overlap in the major current issues, said Neumüller and Weikel.

Examples mentioned were transport and environmental policy, the topic of sustainability, the digital town hall, the joint fight against further light pollution and standing up for a tree protection regulation.

Greens: Ronny Schreib is more trusted to fill in the ditches in town

There are also great parallels in the asylum home question.

Weikel said that Ronny Schreib knew clearly what his position was.

According to reports, the ZMS local council is a supporter of a compromise solution that includes a corresponding, but reduced use of the Atron property on Ziegelstadel in terms of the total number of future residents.

In the case of Valentina Dahms, however, according to the Greens, they still don't know exactly where she stands on the matter and what her personal connections to the citizens' initiative "Burgerfeld becomes Bürgerfeld" look like.

In any case, she has not yet taken a clear position.

And that despite the fact that because she lives in Burgerfeld she is quite close to the events and is actually directly affected.
