Highlights: “Absolute eyesore’: Kirchheimer complains about the moguls on Fiji. “There are so many potholes in the shoulder that you simply can’t drive there! For me, this is an absolute eyesore and the cost of tarring this edge strip really can't be that high” Since the street belongs to Aschheim, Kirchheim cannot operate here. On the other hand, the planned cycle highway from Munich to Markt Schwaben, if it comes, will be on this route possible.

If you cycle to Fiji, you have to overcome a mogul slope. A Kirchheim resident has now complained about the potholes. But the community can't change anything.

Kirchheim - Karl Ehrnsperger from Kirchheim expressed his dissatisfaction in the building committee about the very poor condition of the cycle road to Fidsche, Lake Heimstetten. “Drivers should be considerate of cyclists and overtake at a distance of two meters - this is impossible given the many holes in the shoulder.”

He often rides the extension of Bajuwarenstrasse by bike and also by car, said Ehrnsperger. “But there are so many potholes in the shoulder that you simply can’t drive there! For me, this is an absolute eyesore and the cost of tarring this edge strip really can't be that high." Ehrnsperger also criticized the footpath around the lake: "There are a lot of places where it's always very dirty and remains very large Standing in puddles.”

Mayor Stephan Keck (SPD) agreed with Ehrnsperger, saying that citizens often complain about the cycle path. “But on the one hand, the extension of Bajuwarenstrasse after the motorway bridge no longer belongs to us, but to Aschheim, so unfortunately we cannot take action here.” On the other hand, the planned cycle highway from Munich to Markt Schwaben, if it comes, will be on this route possible. The street would then be fundamentally renovated. “The recreational area association is responsible for the footpath around the lake, we will forward it there. They wanted to prepare the area and the path before the state horticultural show anyway,” said Keck. It starts in May.
