Evaëlle, 11 years old, 6th grade student, committed suicide on June 25, 2019 in the family house in Herblay, in the Paris suburbs, in Val d'Oise. After having suffered months of school harassment at the Isabelle Autissier college in Herblay, her parents removed her from the establishment and filed a complaint against several students. Three teenagers were subsequently indicted for “harassment of a minor”. One of them had the case dismissed and two were referred to the juvenile court.
Five years after the events, on March 20, the investigating judge decided to refer Evaëlle's French teacher to the criminal court for “harassment of a 15-year-old minor”. An extremely rare decision. According to documents that
