A 118 nurse was "physically attacked" by a patient last night in the emergency room of the Santa Maria degli Angeli hospital in Putignano, in the province of Bari. The local health authority communicates this underlining that "in the face of yet another episode of violence against healthcare workers, the general management firmly condemns what happened and expresses support and solidarity to the nurse who, due to the beatings she suffered, was treated with a prognosis of 15 days".
The company prevention and protection service - continues the ASL - will proceed with "an audit, at the site of the attack, with all the staff involved (directly or indirectly) in the event". And in line with the "most recent regional indications, the health company will be a civil party and will make a request for compensation for damages against the person responsible for the violence".
