Highlights: A "Koh-Lanta" candidate indicted for sexual assault. Six years after the cancellation of season 19 of the adventure game, one of the participants is under threat of trial. The candidate in question is none other than Candide Renard, the daughter of the current coach of the French women's football team, Hervé Renard. The young woman, aged 21 at the time of the events, had indicated that another candidate, Eddy Guyot, would have tried to kiss her before putting his hand under her clothes.

The affair had the effect of a bomb on the French audiovisual landscape at the time. Six years after the cancellation of season 19 of the adventure game, one of the participants is under threat of trial.

The facts date back almost six years.

“Koh-Lanta”

was urgently canceled, even though filming in the Pacific Islands had started four days ago. If at the time, the production of the adventure game had first advanced

“an event external to the game which occurred between two competitors during the night of the 4th to the 5th day of filming of a new edition of Koh-Lanta in the Pacific”

, the real reason very quickly surfaced.

“A competitor reported facts likely to amount to sexual assault

,” explained Alexia Laroche-Joubert, then president of the production company.

Candide Renard then immediately notified production via an emergency walkie-talkie. As soon as she returned to France, she filed a complaint against the man which triggered an investigation by the Nancy public prosecutor's office (Meurthe-et-Moselle).

It was only five years later, on November 16, 2022, that - according to our colleagues from Le

Parisien

- the alleged attacker was indicted. And if during all these years Eddy Guyot never stopped pleading his innocence, his request to annul the measure was rejected by the investigating chamber of the Nancy Court of Appeal on March 14. He is now under threat of trial and remains presumed innocent.
