Time doesn't really exist. It is only what we make of it. By creating her own watch brand in Paris in spring 2022, Nousseïma Baraket has clearly not lost her own. Firstly because too few women enter into a desperately masculine environment. And this while, paradoxically, Swiss workshops welcome them without counting. Then because Buci has a deliciously cultivated air, very Saint-Germain-des-Prés, with its timepieces sold with a collection of poems, in a case resembling a book.

Proposing poetic watchmaking is Buci’s challenge. Nothing is more logical, then, than to see the young brand unveil a new collaboration on March 21, World Poetry Day. This limited edition of 40 pieces was produced in collaboration with Romaric André, aka second/seconde/. The successful French watch designer has not this time imagined an offset hand or a revisited index. This time he marked the paper-like beige dial of this watch with a scar from which the ink from which the verses are made flows.

On the sapphire back of the box, we find the artist's personal definition of poetry:
“poetry: bloodsport where a daring soul fiercely fights a blank paper”. “Poetry is a combat sport in which a daring soul fights fiercely against a blank page”
A return to the roots of inspiration, in 38 mm diameter and 11 mm thickness. Within the steel case of this three-hand watch entirely manufactured in the Jura region, we also find a French Newton movement signed Soprod, a mechanical caliber with automatic winding offering a power reserve of 44 hours.

At Buci, poetry even appears on the leather bracelets: when black affirms that
“this moment is all there is”
, Camel affirms that
“to love is to no longer know how to count time by your side” ,
and brown suggests that you
“live in seconds, think in eternity”
. A second black suede leather bracelet will be offered to you, and a book-shaped case to store in your library. This very Left Bank limited edition of 40 pieces is available for pre-order on the Buci website for €1,495. Delivery is scheduled for next May.
