A week after the crime of Germán Gabriel Medina (33), Verdini's hairdresser, in Recoleta, there is only one certainty:

Abel Guzmán (43), the murderer, is still at large.

While the investigation continues, in the last few hours, a professional gesture analysis and lip reading laboratory deciphered part of what Guzmán said before shooting.

Clarín

accessed the video that the company Lectolab made with the transcription and which is not part of the official file.

The scene is from the moment in which four of Verdini's six hairdressers were sharing a beer, after finishing the day's work, on Wednesday of last week. There are Facundo, the owner, “Charly”, the manager, Noelia, a new employee, and Medina, the salon's star colorist. They were chatting relaxed when Guzmán bursts into the circle and scolds the four, with greater vehemence towards Verdini and Medina.

Some of the phrases that were extracted would reaffirm the hypothesis of an old grudge between Guzmán and Medina. “It's not with you, it's with him,” Guzmán seems to have told Verdini. Seconds later, gun in hand, he tells Medina: “

I was looking for you for a while. Look at me!

”. Then, he triggered the 9 mm pistol and killed him.

In turn, on Monday another footage was released, from another of the premises' eight security cameras, in which the moments after the murder are observed. Guzmán, nervous, walks through the hair salon looking for his backpack and then escapes through the window.

You can also see the hasty attempts of “Charly” Azorín, the manager, to give Guzmán an escape route. Facundo Verdini told

Clarín

that this desire responds exclusively to the fear of the rest of the staff for being locked up with an armed person.

The young man, who was 33 years old, lived in Morón and a year ago worked in Verdini.

In the last seconds you can also see the image of a camera located outside the room that captured Guzmán's escape along the Beruti path, towards the north.

A source from the Homicide Division of the City Police adds that, as could be seen on street security cameras, Guzmán continued at a fast pace through Beruti to Coronel Díaz, where he turned west and continued to Charcas. Then, everything is a matter of research.

The case is in charge of the Specialized Prosecutor's Unit in Complex Criminal Investigation (Ufecri), headed by prosecutor José María Campagnoli, and the Criminal and Correctional Court No. 48, headed by Judge Javier Sánchez Sarmiento. Together, they took a series of measures. The first of them occurred on Friday and was the raid on Guzmán's house, in Agrelo at 1500, in Merlo.

On Tuesday, there was another raid in Paso al 700, in Balvanera, where one of Guzmán's brothers lives and where he had recently slept on weekdays.

Abel Guzmán, the colorist who shot a co-worker

As for Guzmán's house in the province of Santiago del Estero, the police source says that it has not yet been raided, since they are waiting for judicial authorization.

The main hypothesis, he adds, is that the colorist has fled to that province

.

“I pray that my son turns himself in soon,” declared Cecilia Guzmán, the hairdresser's mother, to the newspaper El Liberal

over the weekend

. She also said that she did not communicate with her son, that she does not know anything about him and that he would not be there.

However, as the main hypothesis being weighed has to do with Santiago del Estero and the magnifying glass is placed on Guzmán's environment, two other measures were established: on the one hand, surveillance of the communications of his relatives since last week. ; On the other hand, at this time investigators are beginning to look more closely at the financial movements of the murderer's relatives, under the presumption that he, as a fugitive, could fall to them if he needed help to remain incognito.

A complaint for using formaldehyde and professional jealousy

Verdini told

Clarín

that Guzmán and Medina did not have a good relationship, although separately both would have had a cordial relationship with the rest of the staff.

A report placed a professional issue as the trigger: Medina

would have reported Guzmán to his colleagues for the use of formaldehyde

, a toxic compound, which would have earned both a warning to Guzmán and a approval to Medina, who would have taken more prominence in the hair salon.

Facundo Verdini said that, with the idea of firing him, he was going to meet with Abel Guzmán the next day to talk with him.

Other details have been provided by clients and some of the salon staff: professional jealousy, reproaches for the use of work instruments that are common to all staff, for the attention to certain clients.

For these reasons, apparently, Guzmán would have resented Medina. Everything would lead to premeditation of the murder. Hours before the crime, and as

Clarín

reported , Guzmán sarcastically told the cashier at a nearby minimarket that he shaved his head because he would kill someone that Wednesday. While the motive seems to be clear a week after the crime, Guzmán's whereabouts are a complete unknown.
