Going against all political rules, for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, 2024 rhymes with 2027, and European elections with presidential elections. Since the meeting to launch the France Insoumise (LFI) list, on March 16 in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis), the tribune has assumed nationalization of the ballot, in the hope of mobilizing his electorate.
“We must prepare in 2024 for the 2027 election,” Jean-Luc Mélenchon said in Villepinte in front of 3,000 people. “But people will say to me:
Are you in the process of presidentializing the European elections?
But it was not me who chose the Fifth Republic,” he argued, while “Mélenchon president!” » rang out in the room.
