Highlights: GreenIT-CIP's offshore wind farm in Sicily gets the Via. The project will be located approximately 35 kilometers from the coast of Marsala, in Sicily. It falls within the scope of a series of projects launched by GreenIT and CIP for a total capacity of 3 GW and capable of satisfying electricity consumption of almost 2.5 million of families. The Via represents an important step for the development of the project which is part of the strategy of the joint venture established by Plenitude (a company controlled by Eni) and Cdp Equity.

The GreenIT-CIP project obtains the first Environmental Impact Assessment in Italy for a floating offshore wind farm. The 7SeasMed, a GreenIT project with the strategic partner Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and some Italian development companies, is the first floating offshore wind farm in Italy to obtain the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.


   With a total capacity of approximately 250 MW, the project will be located approximately 35 kilometers from the coast of Marsala, in Sicily, relying on cutting-edge technologies in the sector. "The Via represents an important step for the development of the project which is part of the strategy of the joint venture established by Plenitude (a company controlled by Eni) and Cdp Equity (Cdp Group) to produce electricity from renewable sources in Italy.


   7SeasMed, together with other floating offshore wind farms off the coasts of Sardinia and Lazio, it falls within the scope of a series of projects launched by GreenIT and CIP together with some Italian development companies, for a total capacity of 3 GW and capable of satisfying electricity consumption of almost 2.5 million of families.
