When Hamas launched its deadly raid on the morning of October 7, 26 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip were in Jerusalem or Israel receiving treatment. Since then, most of them have completed their treatment and fear being forcibly returned to the devastated enclave along with their accompanying relatives. About ten days ago, the Israeli Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat) requested from the hospitals concerned the list of patients whose treatment had come to an end. Among them, women, elderly people and three young children. Their fate hangs on a decision of the Supreme Court, which temporarily suspended their expulsion last Thursday but must rule within thirty days.
