The balcony incident and Netanyahu's responsibility: Galit Distel Atabrian in an interview with Roni Cuban/here 11
Many words have been written about the "balcony incident" that was revealed in Vala. In the same event, which became one of the symbols of the chaotic and toxic behavior in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's immediate environment, Prime Minister's spokesman Yonatan Urich locked MK Galit Distel Atbarian (Likud) on the 14th floor balcony of the party's headquarters in Citadel Ze'ev, following a sharp disagreement between them. Now, about a year and a half later, Distel Atbarian herself speaks in her own voice about the ordeal and reveals new details, including the surprising name of one of the senior people involved in the incident.
MK Distel Atabrian, who resigned near the beginning of the war from the position of Minister of Information, reveals these things in a new episode of the program "Meeting with Roni Kovan", which will be broadcast on Kan 11 this coming Saturday evening. which arose due to an argument between her and the Prime Minister's advisors. The argument concerned a nine-minute long Facebook video created by the MK, which dealt with economic issues and sought to present Netanyahu in an accessible and popular light. "He (Netanyahu) really liked the result, and I didn't know how dangerous it was to excel among these people, who were very good friends of mine. I didn't know how territorial they were."
In an interview, Distal Atabrian claims that after the video was not as successful as expected, she asked to check why. It became clear to her, according to her, that the prime minister's advisors chose to invest less money in the video promoting it on social networks than was devoted to any other video. "They come to Netanyahu and tell him: it failed, because they bring him the results from Facebook that were engineered to do so. And I came to Netanyahu with the page when I discovered it, to show him how they price all the other videos and how much they put on this video. And Urich catches it in time, and I was locked on the balcony. Darkness and stillness. I knocked on the door until the cleaner came and opened it for me. It was frightening at that moment, a very violent event in my eyes. I go downstairs, and then the story begins that no one has talked about."

At this point, Distal Atbarian shifted uncomfortably, and says that Urich was not the only one from Netanyahu's circle who was involved in the same incident. He and three others stood around her and started hurling harsh things at her. She is ready to name one of the senior officials: Netanyahu's chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman, former secretary of the government. "It was scary and humiliating. They push me out screaming, when I'm standing in the middle. I have no estimate of how long it lasted, to me it seemed like an eternity. I remember leaving there with weak and shaking legs, I literally had an anxiety attack in the elevator below, I remember myself falling out From the building. I can't breathe, I don't understand what exactly happened here just now."
When she is asked to try to guess why Braverman, Urich and the others acted the way they did, Distel Atbarian speculates that they saw her as "planting an outsider who could undermine their position in front of Netanyahu. Whoever comes and does a job, and Netanyahu loves him, his end is foreordained."

During the interview Distal Atbarian also talks about the issue of Netanyahu's responsibility for the default on October 7. "He should have stood in front of the cameras and said: I am responsible, I am the prime minister. I don't understand why he didn't do it," she says. She also addresses the question of whether Netanyahu should remain in office in view of the failure, and tells how, in her opinion, the right-wing "Bays" contributed to the failure of the legal reform. The interview will be broadcast, as mentioned, here at 11 this Saturday evening.
