A 22-year-old had to appear in court after a motorcycle ride through the Gebirgsjägerstrasse in Lenggries. However, the case could not be finally resolved.
Lenggries/Wolfratshausen - He is said to have deliberately removed the license plate from his enduro for video recordings and then raced through the Gebirgsjägerstrasse in Lenggries: That's why a 22-year-old from Rottach-Egern had to answer before the district court in Wolfratshausen. The accusation: license plate misuse. After a short trial, the young man was acquitted. The court could not rule out “the possibility that the license plate fell off while driving.” The defense attorney had claimed this from the start. “What the police wrote down does not correspond remotely to the facts,” explained the lawyer.
Police came “with flashing lights and squealing tires”
The defendant claimed that the license plate fell off during driving practice due to a shock when he drove through a bump. His friend, a 22-year-old from Wackersberg, noticed this and picked up the sign. When he drove back to get it, the police came rushing into the area “with flashing lights and squealing tires” - after a resident had complained about the noise of motorcycles. The Wackersberger reported: “The sign was on the path. I didn’t see when or how it broke off.”

The officer initially repeated in court what he had also written in his report: “He got the license plate from the garage.” When the defendant explained to the police officer again that his friend had only given him the plate he found, “and I “I then gave it to you,” the police officer pondered: “I was sure that it came from the garage, but it could also be possible otherwise.” For this reason, the defendant was acquitted.
