The all-clear in combating the Asian longhorned beetle: winter monitoring came to the conclusion that there was no evidence of the pest.
Miesbach
– Winter crown and soil monitoring in the focus zone to combat the Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) in Miesbach has been completed. The climbers were unable to discover any evidence of the pest, according to a press release. The trees will probably be routinely examined for the last time in the summer.
Inspectors have been looking for pests since the beginning of the year
Since the beginning of the year, inspectors from the Bavarian State Agricultural Institute (LfL) have also been carrying out soil monitoring in the quarantine area. Plants that can be affected by ALB are visually inspected from the ground. If no infestation is discovered, this is the final inspection. The LfL continues to ask all residents for access to the properties.

A few more months and then the ALB ghost in Miesbach will be over
Special requirements still apply when disposing of cuttings or wood from specified deciduous trees. This can still be used on your own property as firewood or mulch. However, transport within or out of the quarantine zone is prohibited.
Dispose of clippings free of charge on the Waitzinger Wiese
Clippings can also be disposed of free of charge at the collection point on the Waitzinger Wiese. All host plants of the longhorned beetle must continue to be inspected every two months in the quarantine zone for signs of the pest.
