Railcoop, it's already over. The project to relaunch the rail link between Bordeaux and Lyon, which had raised a lot of hope on the banks of the Rhône and the Garonne, will ultimately not see the light of day, due to an “unsustainable” debt. The management of the railway cooperative made the news official on Wednesday March 27: “As it stands, the Cahors commercial court should have no other choice than to pronounce on April 15 the liquidation of our cooperative,” announced Railcoop in a message to its members.
Facing serious economic difficulties, the railway cooperative was placed in receivership in October. Unable to raise the 500,000 euros needed to continue her activity, she then accumulated problems, falling heavily into debt (880,000 euros in garage costs) with ACC M, a specialist in equipment restoration. railway companies with which it was in dispute. The decision of the Clermont-Ferrand administrative court on March 21, dismissing the railway cooperative which contested the amount of the invoice for the ACC M workshops, sounded the death knell for the Railcoop project.
