A month after the incident, the principal of the Parisian school group Maurice-Ravel (20th century) therefore decided to leave and anticipate his retirement by a few months. An early retirement which follows the death threats he received on the Internet after his altercation, at the end of February, with a BTS student whom he had asked to remove her veil. “It took on proportions that it should never have taken,” testifies a final year student at the Ravel high school, a few minutes before returning to class to work on a white baccalaureate test. “The death threats really went too far.” “The student should have reacted differently and listened to the principal's reprimands,” thinks this other high school student, also in his final year.

Wednesday evening, after the wave of indignation sparked by the departure of the principal, Gabriel Attal announced a complaint for “slanderous denunciation” against the young woman. “I don't really understand,” reacts a student from another BTS, “because I think that neither of them, whether it's the principal or this young girl, wanted it to become so big. Attal wanted to do that to say,
“Here we are, we’re not going to let this go,”
