The members of the
“Beijing Express”
production seem to have had a lot of fun this year imagining certain challenges. The candidates, for their part, paid the price in the face of the residents they approached.

As always in “Beijing Express”, the pairs participating in the program must hitchhike to get around. But, during this new 18th season currently broadcast on M6, production put obstacles in their way by imposing certain constraints on them which disrupted their search or their journey in the locals' cars.

Thus, in the second stage, the candidates had to put around ten marshmallows in their mouth to ask motorists to please take them when traveling. They were then required to keep the candies like this during the journey, which sometimes made them drool in the passenger compartment... In the fourth stage, the participants were, this time, required to succeed in swallowing three very hot peppers (25 times more powerful than a classic chili sauce) throughout the race. Romain, the hairdresser who teams up with Laura, one of his clients, couldn't stand it and drooled on himself (even though he was in the car) during the trip. An unsavory sight for the guests in the car... Myriam, who was competing with her grandfather, was so ill that she had to vomit at the window of the vehicle.
During the seventh episode of the adventure show broadcast this Thursday, March 28, the four pairs still in the race had to, this time, put tea in a huge basin then try to get accepted into a car with her. Obviously, the residents, afraid of staining the seats of their vehicles, refused one after the other.
" Shame "
Laura, candidate for “Beijing Express”
Clever, some candidates hitchhiked without their bulky object but, as soon as the drivers saw the basin, they categorically refused to welcome them. A moment that embarrassed most of them.
“But Jérémy, how do we do it? We’re going to give them a carload
,” exclaimed Laura. In the post-race interview, Jérémy returned to this moment:
“We arrive with our gigantic basin and he continues with “no, no!””
, explains the young man regarding their driver.
“Shame
,” adds Laura.
To be able to leave and continue the race, the candidates therefore had to insist heavily in order to find good souls ready to accept them into the passenger compartment. During the trip, the jolts of the vehicles did not fail to spill tea, often on the candidates.

These images shocked some fans of the show who reacted negatively
on 'a person who kindly accepts the stop sign. STOP the lack of respect.”
Another did not fail to express his dismay:
“The ordeal with the basin filled with tea is completely absurd... It borders on a lack of respect for the locals.”
A third is also angry on the social network:
“I share the opinion of most tweeters... This ordeal is completely disrespectful to the locals. It seems to me that in previous years it was water, right? There, tea... It's excessive..."
Another protests against the various challenges thrown at the candidates.
“On the other hand, in this season, the production lacked too much respect for the inhabitants of the country. Between the mouths full of marshmallows, the chili in the car with the candidates vomiting on board, the tea in the car. They abused their kindness.”
