Public speaking is in fashion. Grandes écoles, high schools, the business world with TEDx conferences and now, communities. This Wednesday evening, the lounges of the town hall of Asnières (Hauts-de-Seine) hosted the second edition of the eloquence competition organized by the municipality for high school students attending school or residing in the town.
In total, 107 students presented themselves, from 21 establishments. Over the course of the selections, with subjects imposed around the theme of hope, eight of them have won their ticket to the final with, at stake, a weekend in Rome. “We were obviously inspired by what high schools do, like Fénelon (
private establishment in the 6th arrondissement of Paris
) which is organizing this year the 32nd edition of its eloquence competition, and we really worked to attract all profiles, from all high schools, with Bac pro candidates in particular,” explains Hugo Huet, Asnières municipal councilor responsible for youth.
