1. Carinthian Easter snack

If you like brunch, you will love the Carinthian Easter snack. No matter whether sweet or salty – there is something here for every taste. Eggs, Reindling, Easter ham and everything else your heart desires at Easter. And depending on the region, one or two local delicacies are added to the Easter snack.

2. Easter lamb

The Easter lamb is not a purely Austrian Easter delicacy, but is of course as much a part of an Easter celebration in Austria as colored eggs. The lamb represents Jesus and that is why there is a symbolic lamb made of dough at Easter.

3. Easter Pinze

The Osterpinze is a Styrian specialty. It is just one of eleven sweet dishes from Styria that you absolutely have to try. However, these are only available at Easter, while the others are available all year round.

4. Easter Striezel

What is known as Osterstriezel in Austria is called Osterzopf in Germany. The yeast dough is great to eat for breakfast and is also popular with afternoon coffee - as long as you can still eat something.

5. Eggs of any kind

No matter whether stuffed, soft-boiled, poached or hard-boiled and colorfully painted: you can't avoid eggs at Easter. And if you don't want to eat them at all, you might enjoy them in liquid form as eggnog.

6. Easter ham

Easter ham, also known as Woachfleisch, is traditionally taken to the Easter mass to be consecrated. Only then is it eaten. Easter ham is also an essential part of the Carinthian Easter snack.

7. Easter spot

The Easter patch is actually just bread that hasn't been formed into a loaf, but has simply been rolled out flat on a baking sheet. The bread is a mixed bread that can be enjoyed with both sweet and salty toppings.
