Baker Michael Schwarzmaier successfully sued for the return of his Weilheim store. After winning the legal battle, the couple is now starting over, but with a small shop in their own home in Peiting.

Peiting/Weilheim - At the beginning of February, the baker's dispute was decided, Michael Schwarzmaier successfully sued for the return of Stefan Zeitler's business (we reported). But there was no way to save the Weilheim store, which had been closed for a long time: it will no longer be reopened.

The shop opens without employees, only the couple runs the bakery

Rather, Stehaufmännchen Schwarzmaier opened a new, small shop in his home on Peitinger Zechenstrasse yesterday, Wednesday - without employees, just his wife. A classic new beginning. “Monday and Tuesday we are closed and preparing, Wednesday to Saturday we sell in the morning,” says Schwarzmaier.

Damage amounting to 200,000 euros occurred

But the problems with his “successor” – Schwarmaier estimates the damage at around 200,000 euros – will continue to haunt him. On the one hand, there are still lawsuits pending, and on the other hand, there are constant reminders that his predecessor has no longer paid, as did the Veolia company, says Schwarzmaier. The fact that all three of his former cars no longer work is also a problem. In an email to the editors, Zeitler emphasized, among numerous other allegations, that two cars were virtually no longer roadworthy when they were taken over and the third was a total loss after an accident.

The production facility is actually much too big

Of course, the production facility in Peiting is now much too big for Schwarzmaier, “we’ll have to think about what we’re going to do at some point,” he says. He will no longer seek organic certification because of the effort involved. But he still delivers to customers in Herrsching and Kochel, among others, and he's been involved in the new Steingaden mini-supermarket in the historic brewery - let's see what happens next.

This means that things are turning for the better for the people of Peiting. It was only recently announced that the traditional Aicher bakery in Peiting was closing after 43 years.
