Stefan Raab made his last official TV appearance in 2015 and then withdrew from the public eye. Now the entertainer is causing a lot of conversation with an unexpected video.

Cologne – In 2015, Stefan Raab (57) withdrew from the public – and quite consistently. Although the entertainer still works behind the camera, he has given up his successful shows such as “TV Total” and “Schlag den Raab”. But now the surprise: Stefan Raab reports on social media with an unexpected clip.

After years of radio silence: Stefan Raab logs on to Instagram and teases a comeback

Stefan Raab has repeatedly caused speculation since his retirement. But now he's personally taking the whole thing to the extreme. Raab and his eternal show intern Elton posted a cryptic video via Instagram. Stefan Raab's voice can be heard clearly and clearly, singing: "I'm hanging out here by the lake." He isn't visible at first - but Elton is, who goes to see Raab on an island. “You’re just skin and bones. Everyone is looking for you. You've been gone for almost 10 years now. It’s time for you to do something again,” suggests the moderator. “I'll do something,” says Raab and points to his fishing rod.

After a short exchange of blows with Elton, Stefan Raab finally embarks on a possible new career path: He wants to become an influencer and demands followers. “Watch out, Elton. When I have 9 million, I promise you, I’ll do something again,” announces Raab. The 52-year-old now has three days to do this. That's why Elton asks for help on his Instagram profile to "make TV history": "I need your help! @therealstefanraab wants to…um…need to do something again when he gets 9 million followers.”

“Brilliant move”: Fans celebrate Stefan Raab’s video – but are skeptical

The followers are freaking out after this news - but they are also skeptical. After all, the timing is suspicious. The deadline for Stefan Raab would be April 1st. “In 3 days, on April 1st, Stefan Raab will become an influencer? haha But still cool to hear something from Raab again,” writes a fan. “Such a brilliant move. Still as clever as before!” laughs another.

Others believe the story is inspired by Easter. “Reminds me a bit of the resurrection of Jesus. Posting on Good Friday and then being ‘resurrected on the third day’ for three days,” writes one user. Reality star Evelyn Burdecki (35), on the other hand, is convinced: “You can do it in 2 days!”
