Since March 19, a day of national strike in the civil service, they have not stopped. In Loire-Atlantique, parents and teachers continue to mobilize against the “shock of knowledge” reform. This Saturday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m., they will be in the streets again. And hope to be as numerous as the previous weekend, when 3000 of them gathered in Nantes, according to their count, to defend public schools.
Initially, the inter-union had already announced three more days of action than elsewhere. But in reality, it even extended beyond that with blockades and “punch” actions in different establishments, in a spread out manner.
“Clearly, it’s a success. The department is a locomotive
,” rejoices Clément Brochard, co-secretary of Sud-Éducation 44. The extent of the anger is manifested in particular by the initiatives carried out by parents in recent days, such as “deserted school” operations, allowing teachers not to go on strike and
ultimately
not to lose a day of salary.
“There is a very strong alliance between parents and staff
,” welcomes the trade unionist, also a school teacher.
11,000 children absent Thursday March 28
Thursday, March 28, 11,000 children were reportedly absent from several dozen establishments in the department.
“We do not have a measurement tool for student absences, each establishment centralizes the information
,” indicates the rectorate, requested by
Le Figaro
. But the figure does not come out of nowhere: it was communicated by the parents after careful work. On a huge WhatsApp group, from which subgroups arise, everyone reported the data according to their geographical sector. 1,600 people make up this channel and a change of platform is being studied, due to its saturation.

, still can't believe it Violaine Boutet, president of parents of students at Salvador Allende college in Rezé.
This mother of three children, the last of whom is in fourth grade, does not remember such enthusiasm. Certainly, there was the Blanquer reform on high school.
“But there, such a network, such connections…”
. Having been involved for seven weeks, she is one of the pioneers, without however defining herself as a spokesperson. Indeed, the organization remains very horizontal and important decisions are taken during general meetings bringing together several voices. If the movement is supported by Nupes deputies, and the Nantes municipal majority (bringing together several leftists) has announced its support, it remains convinced that
"it is an apolitical movement"
, with people who do not necessarily have the habit of mobilizing.
Margot Roland, representative of parents of students at the Lecorbusier public nursery school, still in Rezé, had not returned to the streets since the CPE reform. It dates back to his student years. Furthermore, on Thursday, she took her son to school late. This visible act of protest makes it possible to avoid an entire day of absence, forcing you to keep your children at home.
“This makes it possible to report massive late arrivals to the rectorate level
,” explains Rezéenne.
“I didn’t think we would be able to mobilize people from kindergarten age.”
Since March 19, parents and teachers have been mobilizing tirelessly in Loire-Atlantique against the “shock of knowledge” reform.

Indeed, the first demand expressed against this “clash of knowledge” reform primarily concerns the level groups in middle school.
“In terms of numbers, it is not possible to put them in place. We do not respond to a shortage of teachers by setting up a uniform and level groups
,” she describes. Other points concern parents of younger children: the implementation of certified programs,
“which leave no pedagogical freedom to teachers”
.
“There is already a crisis in the attractiveness of the profession, if teachers are tied hand and foot to a certified program, how can we attract them?”
, she asks herself.
“Psychologically, we are going to destroy kids
,” continues Violaine Boutet, regarding the level groups in French and mathematics.
“If we tell a kid, you're bad at math, it's difficult to get out of it,”
she illustrates, adding that children will have to deal with several groups of friends. And that
“concretely, there are already 40 French teachers missing in the academy…”
. She also believes that not mixing children is akin to a social divide:
“A class is a mini-society. I want my children to face reality
. ”
Very mobilized, she personally hopes that the movement will not drag on forever:
“I'm starting to get very tired but we want to go as far as withdrawal!”
“For the moment, we have a wall in front of us
,” regrets Clément Brochard of the Sud Éducation union. But he doesn't intend to give up:
“We're not heard, that's why we continue. If we stop working massively on a national scale, we will be able to be heard
. At the beginning of March, however, the government backpedaled on the subject by evoking the possibility of
“exemptions”
for these
“need groups”
and no longer level.
A call for a strike was launched in middle and high schools on April 2. In Loire-Atlantique, the inter-union has already planned to initially extend it until April 4. Or even more: among the avenues considered in the longer term, disruptions during the Olympics in Nantes stadiums have been proposed. But nothing has been done yet.
