It happened last week. The campaign director of one of the leading candidates in the European elections had his backpack stolen on transport. A trivial incident for ordinary mortals. But in a context of intensifying foreign interference, the victim's team became suspicious when viewing the video surveillance images. “It doesn’t seem like a theft of opportunity,” says a member of the said campaign team. Since the unfortunate event, the victim has not let go of her new backpack. A touch of paranoia?
In this context, this Friday, the General Secretariat of Defense and National Security (SGDSN) is organizing a closed meeting with the campaign teams of the various candidates for the European elections to protect them against possible foreign interference, Military school, in Paris (7th century). All candidate political parties send one or more representatives there. Basic advice will be given to them: check the sender of the email, choose a password of 12 to 14 alphanumeric characters or even update their antivirus.
