The climb to the Platteneck
The ascent begins in Eschenlohe and initially leads through the gentle alpine meadows of Wallgau. But the scenery soon changes as you pass the steep rock faces and scree of the Pustertal. The view opens up into the Oberland, where Staffelsee and Riegsee glitter in the sun and Lake Starnberg merges with the horizon.
Along the ridge there is a breathtaking panorama that extends from the Karwendel to the Wetterstein Mountains. After a rest, hikers move on to the lonely Platteneck, far away from popular peaks. The path leads through a peaceful landscape, past a private hunting lodge and down into the Mösltal, which is just as dramatic as the Pustertal.

The descent takes place through low mountain pine slopes around the Pustertal houses, where wild jackdaws flying around enliven the scenery. The forest road back to Eschenlohe finally leads past the impressive Asamklamm gorge before hikers arrive back at the starting point.
