A man was seriously injured while working in the forest in the Upper Palatinate. He was felling a spruce tree with a chainsaw.
Neustadt am Kulm - A 39-year-old was seriously injured while felling a tree in a forest near Neustadt am Kulm (Neustadt an der Waldnaab district). On Thursday, March 28, he tried to fell a 40 centimeter thick spruce tree with a chainsaw, according to the police.

While he was cutting through the trunk, the tree hit him in the leg. After the incident in Upper Palatinate, the forest worker was treated by an emergency doctor and then transported to a hospital in a rescue helicopter, as reported.
