A fatal accident occurred on the so-called Blaue-Wand-Straße in Upper Bavaria. A man had crossed into the oncoming lane.
Traunstein - A tragic head-on collision on federal highway 306 near Traunstein claimed the life of an 81-year-old driver. The 89-year-old passenger and the 30-year-old driver of the oncoming vehicle suffered serious injuries, according to the police.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon (March 28th) between Siegsdorf and Traunstein on the so-called Blaue-Wand-Straße. For reasons that are still unclear, the 81-year-old went into the opposite lane in a slight right-hand bend, where he collided with the 30-year-old's vehicle.

The force of the impact caused the person who caused the accident to be so seriously injured that he succumbed to his injuries a short time later in the Traunstein Clinic, it was said. Both his passenger and the other driver were taken to hospitals for treatment. The federal highway was completely closed for the duration of the accident investigation, which took around four hours.
