Poing – This year’s European elections will take place on Sunday, June 9th. The municipality of Poing currently has around 12,200 eligible voters. There are seven electoral districts set up for ballot box voting and six electoral districts for postal voting.

Three of the ballot box voting districts and all six postal voting districts will be housed in the elementary school on Karl-Sittler-Straße. The four other voting districts are located in the Anni Pickert elementary and middle school on Gruber Straße. Each of the ballot box voting districts should have six electoral board members, and the postal voting districts should each have eight electoral board members. This requires 90 poll workers.

Since many Poinger citizens have already agreed to serve as electoral board members in previous elections and votes, the administration is hoping for renewed support from those eligible to vote.

The members of the individual electoral boards are appointed from among those eligible to vote in the community and carry out voluntary work. Eligible voters from other member states of the European Union can also be appointed to this honorary position. Everyone will be comprehensively informed about their tasks during an election orientation event, so that the election process and the determination of the results can be carried out properly. People who have no previous experience as a member of an electoral board can also apply. The poll workers receive tax-free compensation of 70 euros and sufficient food.

Registration at the election office in the town hall, room 011 (Ms. Beck or Ms. Jung), on Tel. (0 81 21) 97 94-1 50 or -1 51. This can also be done electronically. Information at www.poing.de/rathaus-politik/wahlen-abstimmen

From the beginning of May, applicants will be informed whether they are needed and, if so, when and where they should be deployed. At the same time there is also an invitation to take part in the training
