Russia sends the rare “doomsday tank” into the Ukraine war. It is intended for high-ranking officials. What was the Soviet vehicle used for?
Lyman – It is well known that Russia used Soviet war material for the Ukraine war. Now, however, a special rarity has apparently appeared in Ukraine: a Ladoga, of which there are said to be a maximum of five pieces. The command vehicle was actually designed during the Cold War to transport high-ranking Soviet officials in the event of a possible nuclear attack.
The 63rd mechanized brigade of Ukraine published a video on its Telegram channel in which the destruction of a Ladoga vehicle can be seen from the perspective of a kamikaze drone. The drone approaches the vehicle and then the recording stops. Doomsday tank without the end of the world? The real use of the Ladoga tank

The variant of the T80 main battle tank should be equipped with external cameras, communication devices, an oxygen system and measuring instruments for environmental parameters for safe transport. However, the padded leather seats and spacious interior cabin should only be available to key managers and specialists.
It is all the more strange that Russia is now supposed to use these limited vehicles in the Ukraine war. There have been previous reports of remobilized and restored Soviet stocks, but some of the Ladoga vehicles were already housed in Russian museums. The last most famous sighting of the Ladoga was in Chernobyl in 1986, where the vehicle was used by a special reconnaissance unit.
