“The winter break is over – our white and blue fleet traditionally sets sail from Easter! From Easter Sunday, March 31st, it will be time to cast off again for the ships on Lake Ammersee and Lake Starnberg,” announced Finance and Home Affairs Minister Albert Füracker at the start of the Bavarian Lakes Shipping season.
Starnberg - In the new shipping season, the first ship on Lake Starnberg departs from Starnberg on Easter Sunday at 10.15 a.m. and offers insights and views of the castles, churches and villas along the shore on the long tour. The Ammersee shipping company also welcomes spring with a large tour with a stylish ambience on the paddle steamer “Herrsching” from Stegen at 10.25 a.m.

The season on Tegernsee started on March 23rd, and shipping on Königssee runs all year round. The fleet of 32 ships had around 1.5 million passengers in 2023,” said Füracker. The entire Bavarian Lakes Shipping fleet was brought to a “high shine” during the winter break.
