There is a threat of hurricane-force gusts in Bavaria on Good Friday, and the DWD has issued numerous warnings - and tips on how to behave correctly.
Munich - It's getting uncomfortable in Bavaria. At the start of the Easter weekend, there is even a red alert in some places - an overview of the warnings from the German Weather Service (DWD).
Red alert in Bavaria: severe weather warning! Hurricane-like gusts in the south of the Free State
There is a red alert in the south. The DWD has issued an official severe weather warning of hurricane-like gusts. “Above 1500 m, hurricane-like gusts with speeds of up to 110 km/h occur from the south. In exposed locations, hurricane gusts of up to 130 km/h must be expected,” it says. The warning also points out possible dangers: “Danger to life and limb from falling trees, high-voltage lines and scaffolding; falling branches, roof tiles and other larger objects. Recommendations for action: Avoid staying outdoors or seek shelter (e.g. in buildings),” says the DWD.

Behavior in road traffic should be adjusted and obstructions on traffic routes should be planned for. If there is enough time, objects outside should be secured or dismantled. In addition, sufficient distance should be maintained from buildings, trees, scaffolding and high-voltage lines. “Close all windows and doors,” says the DWD advice.

Uncomfortable start to the Easter weekend: numerous weather warnings in Bavaria
Red alert has been in effect since Friday morning, March 29th, and is valid until 2 a.m. on Saturday. In some nearby districts there is a warning for storms or gusts of wind. There is also a warning of squalls in eastern Bavaria; the districts of Regen and Cham are among those affected. Further north there is a warning for gusts of wind, for example in Tirschenreuth and Bayreuth.
