Holzkirchen - A motion from emergency doctor Thomas Verhasselt was very clearly accepted at the Holzkirchen citizens' meeting, according to which the administration should take more consistent care of the implementation of the house number statute, which has been in force since 2004.
As an emergency doctor, Holzkirchen internist Thomas Verhasselt has been familiar with the plight of poorly signposted public and private buildings for many years. For just as long, he persistently reminds people that a clearly visible house number can make the difference between life and death. If the rescuers first have to search for the address reported by the control center, crucial seconds or even minutes can be lost.
Holzkirchen: Statutes for house numbers already exist
The placement and form of house numbers is clearly regulated in the market town's statutes. “The administration has decided to address this issue in the near future and to check the implementation of the statutes more consistently,” Mayor Christoph Schmid read from the statement and expressly thanked Verhasselt for his persistence on this issue.
The statement also states that the designation of house numbers and the naming of streets is a regulatory task in the interest of the general public. This is of particular importance for the registration system, police, post office, fire brigade and rescue services. Furthermore, the allocation of house numbers and the naming of streets serves public safety and order. For these reasons, regular monitoring of enforcement is necessary and necessary. The citizens' meeting clearly agreed with this.
