The city of Garching wants to create a heat plan and needs the support of the citizens. You are supposed to fill out a questionnaire.
Garching – For several years now, the consequences of climate change have become increasingly noticeable in Germany and also in Garching. It is known that the cause of climate change lies in the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The CO2, in turn, is due to the human-caused combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, the city writes in a press release.
What heat supply with which energy sources and with what consumption is currently available in Garching households and commercial businesses?
Garching – like all municipalities in the district – has set itself the goal of becoming “climate neutral” by 2040. This means gradually replacing the fossil fuels used to produce heating and electricity with renewable domestic energy sources. Heating and process heat make up around three quarters of Garching's current energy consumption. Garching has therefore decided to draw up a heat plan this year to be drawn up by experts and supported by experts, which will show concrete measures for a climate-neutral heat supply for Garching by 2040. The prerequisite for this is knowledge of which heat supply, with which energy sources and with what consumption currently exists in Garching households and commercial businesses. According to the city, it is also important what plans the people of Garching want to have for their heat supply in the future.
In order to be able to present the most accurate consumption scenario possible, the help of citizens is needed. The town hall asks Garching residents to fill out the questionnaire about the current heat supply. The questionnaire can be filled out from Tuesday, April 2nd to Friday, May 3rd at survey.lamapoll.de/KWP/de. mm
