The Markt Schwaben Transport Committee wants to allow parking for up to four hours in a limited space below the town hall.

Markt Schwaben - In its most recent public meeting, the Environment, Transport, Social and Culture Committee (UVSK) decided as a recommendation to the market town council to leave the current parking restrictions in the town center unchanged, with the exception of the castle moat. The machines that have already been installed around the Swabian market square allow a maximum parking time of two hours; and you don't want to shake that. However, with the planned installation of parking ticket machines in the Schloßgraben this year, the parking time will be extended to four hours. With the UVSK's recommendation for a resolution, the administration is also commissioned to calculate the fees for extending the parking time in the castle moat and in connection with a new issuance of the "Ordinance on parking fees in areas with parking ticket machines in Markt Schwaben (Parking Fees Ordinance)" for further consultation and decision-making Finally presented to the market town council.

The decision recommendation in the technical committee was preceded, among other things, by a data evaluation that had been going on for some time from the existing parking ticket machines in the town center. This showed that the average parking time in 2022 and 2023 was 50 minutes. The administration therefore sees no reason to extend or adjust the parking duration in the town center. However, as described, she suggested extending the parking time in the castle moat in order to make it possible to stay in the town center for a longer period of time; for example for doctor's appointments and restaurant visits. It literally says: “Since the reason for all other restrictions is usually the provision of customer parking spaces or the prevention of long-term parking, the administration sees no need to take action to adjust the times.” However, the restrictions in Schulgasse, Enzensbergerstrasse and the angled parking spaces in Von-Kobell-Strasse could possibly be lifted. The side parking spaces with parking time restrictions remained on Von-Kobell-Straße.
