In the tuning scene, things are not very quiet and contemplative on “Car Friday”. The police also know this and always find what they are looking for during poser checks:

Mannheim/Heidelberg/Rhein-Neckar-Kreis - What is Good Friday for some is “Car Friday” for others. At least as sacred, but despite the similarity of the name, the background could hardly be more different. A kind of procession to celebrate the day takes place in both cases, but the police find the “Car Friday” one to be so mediocre and regularly intervene. And she did it again this year, also in Mannheim, Heidelberg and the surrounding area, as MANNHEIM24 reports.

“Car Friday” – control areas at Plöck and Kapuzinerplanken

As is well known, the Mannheim Police Headquarters in particular has had some experience with the poser scene in the past. The specially set up “Poser” investigative group knows their Pappenheimers. And so it happened that from Friday evening (March 29) until the early hours of Saturday morning, 36 police officers checked a total of 130 vehicles and 215 people.

Between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., the emergency services set up stationary checkpoints at the Kapuzinerplanken in Mannheim and in the Plöck in Heidelberg. They then carried out mobile checks on moving traffic throughout the area, just as they did last year.

Results on “Car Friday” – excessive speed, cell phones at the wheel, ignoring red lights

Among other things, the Poser investigative group found a total of 46 violations, which in various cases led to the operating license expiring. In six cases, the defects were so serious that the vehicles had to be confiscated for further inspection. The exhaust system of eight of the conspicuous vehicles had been tampered with, which resulted in the vehicles being significantly louder than permitted.

The officers noticed a Mercedes in Heidelberg because it was lowered. The changes to the chassis also meant that safe participation in road traffic was no longer possible. There were also various reports of speeding violations, cell phone use while driving, and failure to obey red lights. And a violation of the gun law.

Poser investigation group – “We will continue to take consistent action against these violations”

“The control against car posers not only serves to ensure road safety, but also to combat noise pollution and reckless driving. We will continue to take consistent action against these violations to ensure safety on our roads,” says Police Vice President Ulrike Schäfer.

And one more somewhat stupid thing at the end: A driver who thought he was safe and obviously wanted to thumb his nose at the police drove through a checkpoint three times. Well, his vehicle was actually perfectly fine, but now he has to answer for unnecessary driving back and forth. Yes, there really is. Gone stupid. (mko/pol)
