We are far from the benches of the Council of Paris. However, it is in the small room of the town hall of Thiron-Gardais (Eure-et-Loir) that Stéphane Bern officially makes his return to politics as a municipal councilor. The radio and television presenter was acclaimed by the inhabitants of the Percheron village by gathering 97.3% of the votes in the complementary municipal partial elections, on March 17, 2024. One more stone in the building of his commitment to this municipality since 2012. “Here we don't do politics, we are neither right nor left,” asserts the new elected official straight away.
On the council's menu that evening: elections of the mayor and three deputies, approval for the purchase of a new vehicle for technical services, choice of representatives to the community of communes or modification of the deliberation on the position of secretary of town hall. The session is completed in 50 minutes, without a major tirade from the fifteen elected officials. “This is a good thing done,” concludes Mr. Heritage.
