Creationism, gendered sports lessons, beliefs prevailing over historical and scientific facts... It is a scathing report issued by the rectorate of Grenoble (Isère) concerning the teachings of the fundamentalist school Saint Pierre-Julien-Eymard, dependent on the Fraternity of Saint Pius He is out of contract, that is to say he is not obliged to follow public education programs. It must nevertheless ensure the acquisition of a common base of knowledge. This mission is only partially fulfilled at the Saint Pierre-Julien-Eymard school, according to academic inspectors.
Their report points to a “confusion between the teaching of knowledge and religious instruction”, mentioning for example that the study of prehistory begins at “the creation of man”. The maintenance of sexist stereotypes contrary to the values of the Republic is also criticized, with strongly gendered sports classes where “girls do jump rope and dance (…) while boys play football”.
