. He also highlighted the “joint efforts of Qatar and Egypt” to mediate in the war “to preserve the progress” of previous rounds of negotiations.
Jerusalem also gave the green light for talks: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also gave the green light on Friday for further talks with Hamas about a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. War in Israel has been going on since October 2023
The war in Israel, which has lasted almost six months, was triggered by the unprecedented major attack on Israel on October 7th by Hamas, which the EU and the USA classify as a terrorist organization. Jerusalem declared after the attack that it would destroy Hamas and has since launched massive military operations in the Gaza Strip. According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, which cannot be independently verified, more than 32,700 people were killed.
