Erding/Finsing – A fire in a commercial building in Erding on Saturday evening caused material damage amounting to millions. According to the Upper Bavaria North Police Headquarters, no one was injured. There was also a fire in Finsing.
At around 8:20 p.m., the rescue workers were informed about the fire in the building on Landshuter Strasse. According to previous investigations, the fire broke out in the basement of the house where Tanzwelt Erding is located. According to the police, it was closed at the time the fire broke out.
The emergency services evacuated the shisha bar on the ground floor, where there were numerous guests, including the outdoor area. According to current knowledge, no one was injured. The extinguishing work and, above all, the smoke removal measures took several hours because the large building was filled with smoke from Landshuter Straße to Rätschenbach. The Erding and Altenerding fire departments were busy until after midnight, but were able to prevent the flames from spreading.
The Erding criminal police have taken over the investigation to clarify the cause of the fire. Initial indications point to a technical defect, apparently in a simmering dishwasher. The material damage amounts to around one million euros. It is currently not possible to use the business building.
