The Poinger construction yard needs new vehicles. A total of eleven are to be purchased this year. The administration is checking whether models that use synthetic diesel are also possible.
Poing - The employees of the construction depot must be able to rely one hundred percent on their vehicles - regardless of whether it is winter or summer. It is inevitable that one or two devices have reached their performance or age limits. The local councilors were able to find out about the status of the construction depot's current fleet in February last year. The newly purchased vehicles were shown and the necessary replacement vehicles for 2024 were explained.
At the end of 2023, due to several technical defects identified in vehicles, it became apparent that the concept for replacement procurement would have to be re-examined or changed.
The construction depot currently has 41 vehicles and 19 trailers available for construction and maintenance work and winter service. Replacement purchases have built up in 2022 and 2023 and must be processed this year. This includes a total of ten replacements (built between 1993 and 2014) and one new purchase (hoe lift trailer).
During the inspection, the required fuel variation was also discussed. In order to be able to exploit as many options as possible and to be able to travel in a climate-friendly manner with the construction depot's company vehicles, it is being clarified whether the new synthetic and high-purity HVO 100 diesel, which will be available for purchase in April of this year, is suitable for the construction depot's vehicles and is acceptable or permissible to the fire department. The committee approved the concept for vehicle replacement and new procurement for the construction depot.
