It was at one time threatened with demolition to build a housing building and parking lots instead. Offices were also planned there. But the Sainte-Rita church, located north of the 15th arrondissement of Paris near the Sèvres-Lecourbe and Volontaires stations, which adjoins UNESCO buildings, is still standing. Built in 1900, the neo-Gothic style building with its single nave now has the future in store for it. The chapel will soon become… A climbing gym.
An immense 13 m high climbing wall will therefore be erected in the heart of the parish known to Parisians since it allowed, until the beginning of the 2010s, the blessing of animals. A camel was baptized there in 2011. Its religious activities are now over. Now it's time to practice sports in this Olympic year of the Paris 2024 Games.
