The Labor and Welfare Committee held a discussion this morning (Monday) on the treatment and recognition of the Nova Party victims. According to the National Insurance data presented at the hearing, so far 3,702 claims have been submitted for initial recognition of the victims of the parties, 3,693 of which were immediately approved. However, the discussion revealed that people who were not included in the groups that received immediate recognition, including parents and citizens who came to rescue revelers, have not yet received recognition and are being tortured by the state. According to attorney Shlomi Mor from the National Insurance, only about a third of the victims submitted a request for continued recognition and treatment, of which 80% of the requests were examined and approved.

Itzik ben Lulu, whose son Oral Abuchatzira was killed in Nova, told about his fall between the chairs. "Oral was a bar manager in Nova and went out to fight , it took 4 days to locate him among all the bodies and the one who found him in the end was us, not the state and no one else," he shared about his difficult experience.

In addition to the unbearable mental difficulty, Ben Lulu talked about the financial difficulty that has befallen him since his son's murder, where he lives "My employer deducted 20% of my salary, I sued him for salary withholding and he summoned me to a hearing. I have 3 more children to raise and I can't look them in the eye because I don't know how to solve their problems. A psychiatrist costs NIS 3,500, where will I get that?" he asked the members of the Knesset. "Before October 7, I was a happy person: 4 children, a good life - they turned off the light for me. Unfortunately, I fall short of the 0.02% that have risen here and meanwhile no one sees us, we are transparent. I am in contact with the National Insurance, but the recognition will probably take time And right now I don't have any financial support."

"We don't have the option of going to a therapist of our choice, many survivors have lost meaning"

Shira Cohen, the Nova survivor, shared about the difficult bureaucracy with the National Insurance, which causes many survivors to lose their meaning and not return to work and life themselves. "Giving money is not always the solution, people need to be helped to go through a rehabilitation process," Cohen said. "We have been approved for 36 psychological treatments, we do not have the option of going to a therapist of our choice but only one recognized by the National Insurance. Many survivors have lost meaning and it is very difficult to return to the work we worked in before. Many survivors fall into the bureaucracy, 180 regular soldiers who were at parties do not receive any response from the National Insurance ".

Daphne Lea Dreyfus from the Parents' Forum, attacked the never-ending medical committees they have to participate in, which sounds almost illogical considering the difficult scenes that have passed. "We were murdered, slaughtered, shot at and burned, but we have to sit in medical committees that will determine whether or not we sleep at night," she said painfully. "We gave an initial response, but we don't need to sit on a medical committee in advance. We need comprehensive recognition and an automatic rehabilitation basket including holistic treatments permanently. There are 4,000 injured and another 50,000 in the circuit on the second and third."
