Telephone theft alert in the Mantes-la-Jolie region (Yvelines). A pickpocket increases the number of thefts by attacking smartphones. Several incidents have been recorded, notably in the Action and Lidl stores in the Buchelay commercial area. The circumstances are identical: when leaving the supermarket, customers – the victims are all women – realize that their phone has disappeared. Very often, they saw or felt nothing.
“I only remember one thing: I was at the Action checkout when a 30-40 year old man spoke to me for a split second before leaving. When I went out, my pocket was empty, confides Bintah, a resident of Mantes-la-Ville. I'm upset because it's a 1,500 euro iPhone. It contained all of my microbusiness paperwork and I had just fixed it. »
